What Is C&J's Unaccompanied Minor Travel Policy?

C&J Bus Lines has specific age and supervision requirements for minors traveling without an adult. Agents must follow these requirements and confirm any required approval before telling a customer that travel is permitted.

1. Children Under 16

All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years old.

2. Passengers Ages 16 and 17

Passengers who are 16 or 17 years old may travel alone only when the required unaccompanied minor form has been completed and the necessary approval is confirmed.

3. Exceptions for Boston and Logan Airport

Exceptions may be considered for travel to Boston or Logan Airport because these are shorter routes.

  • Exceptions are limited to Boston or Logan travel.
  • Do not assume an exception has been granted. Confirm approval before telling the customer the minor can travel.

4. New York City Travel

Exceptions are not permitted for unaccompanied minors traveling to New York City. This restriction reflects the longer route and the fact that minors would be unattended in NYC.

5. Confirm Approval Before Promising Travel

Do not tell a customer that a minor can travel until the required approval has been confirmed.

If a customer asks whether their child can travel alone, explain the applicable age requirements and verify any necessary approval before confirming that travel is possible.
