How Do You Manage Parking Gates During a Power Outage?
During a power outage, parking equipment, including kiosks and gate arms, may experience temporary connectivity issues. Even if a building is operating on generator power, equipment may not function normally.
1. Monitor the Parking Gates
- Monitor the parking gates throughout the power outage.
- If the kiosks lose connectivity, the gate arms are designed to default to the raised position so customers are not trapped in the parking lots.
- Continue monitoring the gates after power is restored.
2. Reset the Gates if Needed
Parking gates may require a hard reset to return to normal operation after power or connectivity issues.
- Refer to the Parking Gate Manual Reset Tutorial video for reset instructions.
- Toward the end of the video, manually guide the gate arm back down if it does not lower completely on its own.
- Confirm that the gate is operating normally after the reset.
3. Report Ongoing Issues
If a gate does not return to normal operation or you have trouble resetting it, notify the appropriate team so the issue can be addressed.
