What Are the Required Cashout and Shift Report Procedures?

All agents must follow the procedures below when completing and submitting cashouts to help ensure accurate records and make reconciliation easier for the Accounting and Finance teams.

1. Print the Final Shift Report Using End Shift

When printing your final shift report in MMC, always select End Shift → Print.

  • View Details → Print: This report does not include the shift's ending date and time in the "Thru" field.
  • End Shift → Print: This generates the completed report with both the "From" and "Thru" dates and times.

If you accidentally print the report using View Details and the "Thru" information is missing, handwrite the missing ending date and time on the report before submitting it.

2. Sign Your Shift Report

Every agent must print and sign their shift report before submitting their cashout.

3. Include a Cash Denomination Breakdown

When submitting cash in an overnight bag, record the denomination breakdown directly on the bag. Include the number of bills for each denomination, such as $20s, $10s, $5s, and $1s.

MMC is expected to receive an update that may add this information to the printed cashout report. Until that functionality is available, the denomination breakdown must be recorded manually.

4. Document Discrepancies and Unusual Transactions

Use the back of your shift report to explain anything that may help Finance reconcile your cashout, including:

  • Cash shortages or overages
  • Unusual transactions
  • Other discrepancies or circumstances that may affect the cashout

Brief explanations help Finance understand the situation and reduce the need for follow-up questions.

5. Place the Shift Report in the Cash Bag Pocket

Place the completed shift report in the clear pocket on the back of the cash bag, with the printed name, terminal, and shift information facing outward.

If all required information is visible on the report, you do not need to write your name, terminal, or shift information separately on the front of the cash bag.

If your signature is visible on the report, you do not need to sign the cash bag separately.
